How my love of food began

My passion for good food began when I lived in Banff AB. I was working for a production company that had me staying and dining at hotels from time to time. The Banff Springs Hotel became my second home, eating most meals there. I could enjoy a superb brunch in The Koffee Huis, a brilliant steak sandwich in the Rundle Lounge and for some Italian fine dining the Castello Ristorante was my favourite. Where ever you dine, Banff and area have high standards for the food and service. Tourist areas rely on this and it shows. It was a blessing and a curse to live here because after moving out of Banff National Park I found that the real world doesn’t always hold the same standards as what I was used to. Dining out became hit and miss. Rejoicing when I found the places that stood up to the plate and grimacing when they fell short. Now it’s an adventure to go out for dinner. Writing things down and keeping track. The next thing that came natural was to share this information with others. I always wanted to have that "go to" person to ask about dining and thought it would be nice to be that person to others. So while on my culinary travels I will attempt to bring the experience to you through print... or in this case blog, so until you get a chance to try it for yourself, you can get an idea of what is out there.
